This nine-minute quartet is a choreographic reflection of one of my favorite art periods – Cubism. I was most interested in creating a new dance reality emphasizing fierce athleticism, risk taking and depicting fragmented objects whose several sides are seen simultaneously. Original music composed for the piece by Jim Roberts. This high-energy work also incorporates video projections.
Twister (2007)
This six and one half minute duet was designed specifically for the round and is best viewed from all directions. Two dancers enter a post-apocalyptic boxing ring and proceed to duel using the pop game “twister” as their battleground and athletic partnering as their movement vocabulary. Music by David Karagianis.
Swinging on a Bench (2007)
Seeing…meeting…connecting… This six-minute witty, athletic and lyrical duet takes an overused dance prop (the bench) and creates multiple meanings. Music by David Karagianis.
